Welcome To Our School!

Welcome to Charlton Church of England Primary School

Transforming lives through God’s embrace.

Charlton is a school of sanctuary. Our diversity is embraced in all its forms, thus enabling children to thrive spiritually in their own unique way through Worship, prayer and our enriched curriculum. As Jesus taught, we love, support and celebrate our whole community. Our mission to widen horizons, nurture and challenge enables our children to become global citizens, who strive to make a positive impact on our world.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you” John 13:34

OFSTED NOVEMBER 2023

Pupils behave exceptionally well and treat each other with kindness.

Pupils are enthusiastic and exceptionally focused learners.
The school makes sure that personal development is a high priority.

As a school, we live and breathe our vision through our work with our children, parents and wider community. Dover provides a unique context and, as such, we have access to a wonderfully wide range of resources, experiences and backgrounds to enrich the lives of our children. It is a place where children really matter and every individual’s ability is recognised, developed and rewarded. We firmly believe that with God, all things are possible and our children are encouraged to be loving, kind and respectful of others.

We believe that all children who become pupils at our school deserve the very best and our aim is to help them succeed by reaching their full potential in every area of school life – academic, social, personal, physical and spiritual - as a truly inclusive school.

Our children are our best ambassadors and embody the teaching and learning at our school, embracing our key teaching:

“Love one another; as I have loved you” John 13:34

Within our school we work very hard to create a passionate team of teachers, non-teaching and support staff that will support each child in reaching their full potential.  For us our philosophy of education is simple: we want the best for all of our children and we want to create a learning environment that encompasses our passion for learning and our passion for life!

We believe that the key to our success is the broad and balanced creative curriculum we offer.  So, whilst we ensure that we deliver the National Curriculum fully, we use creative ways to do so.  For example, we use our local area, including outdoor learning experiences, to enrich the learning experience. Inspiring our children to become independent learners is at the heart of everything that we do and we take great pride in the fact that we offer such a wealth of experiences.

Charlton Primary School is proud to be an active member of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Trust. To find out more about the Trust, visit their website: www.aquilatrust.co.uk

What our parents say about us:

''My son has truly blossomed since joining the Charlton ‘family’: he runs to school, he is excited to learn and enjoys sharing any and all knowledge he learns - it’s wonderful. I can’t thank the teachers enough for the love and support they give, which goes above and beyond their roles. It shows they care and enjoy what they do. The children are a product of that, right up to year 6. They are all brilliant souls who are safe and happy in their environment.''

''My child has almost completed his first year at Charlton Primary School, I am very impressed with how well he has come along since joining year R. He loves coming to school every day and always returns home very happy.''

''I am extremely thankful for the support that the school has given my son to help him achieve his best not only academically but also emotionally. I feel that the mental health of the students is considered just as important as their academic results.''

OFSTED NOVEMBER 2023

Leaders at all levels are tireless in their ambition to support every child to fulfil their aspirations.
Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school.

SIAMS 2017: Parents greatly appreciate the unstinting care and support given by all the adults in the school community for their children and for other family members who are facing any challenges.

Welcome to the Charlton family!
